Sunset Along the Mississippi

Sunset - James Madison Park

Last evening, taking advantage of the perfect weather, I went to James Madison Park on Lake Mendota to read. The lake was absolutely glassy (and still transparent) as the sun began to slip away, making for a spectacular sunset as the university crew teams and a few ducks traversed the water. A guitar played gently down the way, runners padded by, and people strolled over from frisbee, softball, and reading to catch the sight. The photos are unedited - and don't even fully capture the scene. One of the top five most memorable sunsets of my life.
