Another blow to the idea of individual responsibility

Have we really gone so far as a society that we believe parents are no longer in any wise capable of making their own decisions on how to raise their own children?
No one under age 18 could drink in a bar even with their parents' consent under a bill headed for debate before the Wisconsin Senate.

Under current law, children of any age can drink in a bar if they're with their parents and the adult gives consent and the bartender is willing to serve them.
This bill deserves only scorn and disgust; instead, it has gotten actual consideration.
