- All the hullabaloo about the DNR secretary really fascinates me. I've talked about it before, and my position is the same. If the goal is accountability - and I think it should - then the governor needs the power to appoint and fire the secretary and the senate needs the ability to confirm or reject.
- Don't believe the hype. The legislature did not pass a "tough" drunk-driving law. The fourth offense is now a crime, it should be the first or second and the fines should be much, much higher.
- Do we need to make selling or buying electronics harder or more expensive in Wisconsin? This is as silly as mandating the type of light bulb we use. Let's focus on the economy.
- I wonder why "the political climate isn't conducive" to a big sales tax increase? Did I miss a memo that the recession is over and jobs are coming back?
