Briefly: I worked with/for Brett while in college. I thought highly of him, and I volunteered on his first, heavily-contested 2004 Assembly race, which ended in an improbable victory (given the district numbers) - a feat repeated in each election cycle since. I had this to say in a comment over at Boots and Sabers in 2007:
As someone who worked with Brett for several years in the capitol and assisted on the ground in the 80th on his campaign, I have always found him to be an exceptionally hard working, competent, positive individual. The word 'character' - no matter how much the endless parade of lit pieces has worn it out - honestly comes to mind.
I believe Brett would bring a great deal to the 2010 ticket.
