Thus far, nobody has bitten off any pinkies...but it's been a mixed bag of responses.
This morning, I noticed a number of Facebook friends posting this, or a slight variation, as a status update:
Friend X Thinks no one should die because they cannot afford health care and no one should go broke because they get sick. Asking everyone here, if you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.
Seeing no thoughtful opposition in the home feed, I posted my own response in kind:
Brad V There is a thing called scarcity. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.
Not surprisingly, that stance elicited a variety of responses in the comments - and two "like" thumbs up:
Friend A That's kinda snide, Brad.
Friend B Good call Mr. V
Friend C don't forget incentive
Friend D there are also things called inefficiency, irresponsibility, and greed.
Friend E inefficiency and irresponsibility... sounds like the Govt to me. And political greed, making promises that cant be kept. Yep. sums it up.
And there the debate stands.
