Tulane Law's Martin Davies Quoted

On piracy law, relative to the Somali pirate trial, in his capacity as head of the Tulane Maritime Law Center:

While piracy has been a federal crime in the United States since 1819, it hasn't been prosecuted here in more than 100 years, said Davies, who runs Tulane Law School's maritime law center. The last prosecution he could find in the law books was mentioned in a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 1894.
