A Dangerous Dance in the South China Sea

U.S. and Chinese vessels engaged in rough signaling at sea recently. 

Strangely, the CNN story, for all its detail - down to the fact that some of the Chinese seamen "stripped down to their underwear" during the encounters - fails to mention how far from the Chinese coast all the events played out, which is highly relevant to the story.
