A Winter Walk in Walla Hi

My final full day in Wisconsin included a hike out in one of my favorite natural areas back home - Walla Hi County Park.

A number of small springs keep water flowing free even in the depths of winter.

As we climbed up into the glacial hills, some recent buck rubs showed up on saplings in the undergrowth.

Shortly thereafter, the whitetails themselves appeared, bounded off to a safe distance, and launched a staring contest, one they didn't win.
