Lunch in a Former Porn Store















I must admit, I felt a bit awkward about halfway through my slice of mushroom and pepperoni.

But the new space at Ian's Pizza on State Street, once home to the State Street Arcade, is a welcome addition. As a frequent patron - of the pizza parlor - I'm excited to have more than three tiny tables to eat at.

The spacious annex features a bright gold-yellow finish with a lots of natural light coming from plentiful windows looking out onto State. The intriguing art on the walls currently features some neat mash-ups of notable Madison landmarks coupled with random elements - like a giraffe walking in front of the glass MMOCA prow.

While I couldn't get my favorite slice of chicken penne alfredo, adding the new space to a great location, the cheap diverse eats, the eclectic musical selections, and the colorful staff was like putting the cherry on top of the...actually, I'm think I'm going to refrain from using any metaphors...
